WOULD YOU LIKE TO SERVE ON A WFCA COMMITTEE?

Serving on a committee is a great way for fire commissioners to become involved in the WFCA.  If you are interested in becoming a committee member, please fill out this form Terms are effective January 1^st  - December 31^st.

Budget Committee:   Standing committee responsible for outlining and detailing the financial needs of the association on an annual basis (with regular review) and presenting at the October Board meeting a budget proposal for the following year.

Bylaws & Resolutions Committee:   Standing committee which receives all recommendations from the membership that are sent to the WFCA office; processes member resolutions for the annual meeting.  Reports to the Board and membership annually.

Conference Host Committee:   Represents the local area for the annual conference; responsible for securing some speakers and presenters.

Education & Scholarship Committee:   Researches membership needs of continuing education programs and makes recommendations to the Board; responsible for recommending curriculum for the Saturday Seminar Series as well as the conference education program. The committee will also oversee the Small District Educational Program to assist small agencies with costs for our educational events. The benefit is available to member fire districts and RFAs whose assessed valuation is $100 million or less. The benefit consists of complimentary education registration and a limited number of lodging scholarships.

Legislative Committee:   Reviews the legislative needs of the WFCA and its membership; monitors interim proposals; chair works directly with executive director during session on day to day legislative activity.  A committee member is appointed from each region of the state.

Nominating Committee:   Standing committee responsible for presenting nominees for officer and Board positions to the membership.  A WFCA past president serves as chair; members of the committee shall consist of at least five (5) active members of the association representing a majority of regions and shall not currently be serving as members of the board of directors.

Succession & Strategic Planning Committee: This committee will create the procedure for hiring and guiding association leadership, planning years ahead to ensure the association is prepared. Like the other committees, the Strategic Planning and Succession Committee would report to the board during Board meetings and make recommendations.
