Every January, the Washington State Legislature opens session and considers hundreds of bills, many of which directly impact the fire service. From property taxes, enhanced 911 funding, and volunteer issues to wildland urban interface policy, presumptive disease coverage, and timber revenue, these decisions shape how we serve our communities. Some topics surface every year, while others emerge with little warning.
